Coral Sea Marina Resort, located in the heart of the Whitsundays, has emerged as a premier superyacht marina on Australia’s east coast. Having recently received a multi-million dollar facelift, owner Paul Darrouzet has realized his vision of creating a superyacht hub in one of the world’s untapped cruising grounds, on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef.
In 2019, the former Abell Point Marina became Coral Sea Marina Resort. With the welcome addition of a 77 room boutique resort this superyacht marina has emerged as the perfect port for captains, crew and owners to stay, play and explore the natural wonders of the Whitsundays and Great Barrier Reef.
In 2016, Coral Sea Marina became the first marina in the world to be accredited with the 5 Gold Anchor global marina accreditation, which provides an international quality benchmark in terms of facilities and services. Following this, in 2019, Coral Sea Marina became the first marina in Queensland, Australia to receive Platinum accreditation under the same scheme. This level of accreditation is recognition of the dedication of the marina team to ensure captains, crew and owners are provided with first-class customer service and access to premium marina facilities.
Location of Coral Sea Marina Resort
Coral Sea Marina Resort is located in the township of Airlie Beach and only a short journey from the Whitsunday Coast Airport (by car or helicopter),or Hamilton Island Airport (by ferry or helicopter). The marina boasts 520 wet berths in an idyllic, prime location and can accommodate megayachts up to 80m in length.

Our marina village is a short 1km walk along a waterfront boardwalk, to the heart of Airlie Beach. A 5 minute drive in on of our courtesy cars provides access to a range of local provisioning, leisure activities and other key services available throughout the Whitsunday community.
With 80% of marine tourism in the region operating from our marina we have a large variety of on-water tourism experiences for guests and crew to enjoy. Our Guest Services team will happily book any of these activities on your behalf.
Access to Coral Sea Marina Resort
Coral Sea Marina Resort is accessible via car or private helicopter transfer from Whitsunday Coast (Proserpine) Airport, which connects commercial flights from Brisbane/ Sydney/ Melbourne. Flights into Hamilton Island Airport can also be connected to the resort via ferry or private helicopter transfer directly to the marina’s private helipad.
For owners and guests arriving via large private plane, both Whitsunday Coast and Hamilton Island Airport can accommodate these landings. For smaller aircraft Whitsunday Airport (Shute Harbour) accommodates private landings and we can arrange a concierge pick up from the airport to the marina. For those arriving on private helicopter, landing at the resorts private helipad is permitted.
